Explore tools and settings that help you guide your child’s experience, set healthy boundaries, and stay informed.

Supporting Families

At Roblox, we're building an immersive platform for connection and creativity, with safety and civility at the core. We're committed to offering a space where everyone can find experiences that are right for them.

Safeguards for users under 13

At Roblox, we’re always seeking to improve our moderation systems and introduce new controls for parents to help manage and personalize their child’s time on Roblox. Parents of children under 13 can set limits on their child’s communication, content access, and privacy settings using Parental Controls.

Accessing content

Content defaults for users under 13

Safety is foundational to everything we do at Roblox. Users under 13 are restricted from accessing certain features on the platform, like voice chat. Users under the age of 9 also need parent permission to access experiences with content maturity “Moderate.” Learn more about our maturity labels.

Communication on Roblox

Moderated and limited communication

We are dedicated to supporting experiences where users can connect and express themselves safely, with communication on Roblox subject to our rigorous safety and moderation systems.

Privacy and platform controls

Parental controls and insights

Parents have access to insights and controls that allow them to manage who can see if their child is online, review who they’re connected with, set screen time and more. Learn more about our comprehensive parental controls.

Safeguards for users 13 and over

We’re empowering users 13 and over with new ways to connect and chat more openly with people they know and trust, along with a suite of tools designed to foster positive interactions on our platform.

Accessing content

Content defaults for users 13 and over

By default, experiences with a “Minimal,” “Mild,” or “Moderate” content maturity label are accessible to users 13 years and older. Restricted experiences require users to be 17 years or older and ID verified. Learn more about our maturity labels.

Age Estimation

Age Estimation for users 13 and over

To help make features like Trusted Connections, which enables features like unfiltered chat and Party voice chat, only available to users who are 13 years and older, we're introducing age estimation. Learn more about age checks on Roblox.

Communication on Roblox

Age-based communication

Users who are 13+ and have had their age checked have access to Trusted Connections, which unlocks new, more expressive ways to chat and hang out with people they know and trust, including chat without filters and Party voice. Parents of teenagers (13 to 17) that have a linked account with parent privileges can view their child’s Connections and Trusted Connections.
